About GaricStephens

GaricStephens -a name derived from the Designer Stephen Curd- is a mashup of his middle name "Craig", which is a family name, and his first name Stephen. GaricStephens is known for his knack of finely tailored menswear but what make his designs so unique is a simple twist: he designs for both sexes. His main focus is creating pieces that are timeless, not fadish. Creating clothing that highlighs the male and female form helps him to produce many orignial styles, no matter the season of life.  Recently, GaricStephens showed his fall collection during New York Fashion Week Feb 11th, 2013 at the Empire Hotel. The show focused on bringing in designers from the midwest and exposing them to a larger and more exciting market in New York. It was a private showing and was produced by Cynique Evoule PR company (based in Saint Louis, MO). Since 2010 Stephen has shown his line each year during Fashion Week at  Chicago Fashion Focus as a featured designer and event headliner.  He was the winner of Project Design for St. Louis Fashion Week in which he showed his Fall 2013 collection at the launch and hosted Project Design.  Some past projects include being one of six designers competing for $20,000 on Kenmore's SO YOU WANNA BE A DESIGNER (a web-based TV show on Facebook).
Recently, the brand made the move from the bustling city of Chicago to the quiet mountains of Southwest VA. His studio space is located in his newly opened store, Lavelle Manufacturing in Historic Glade Spring, VA.

About Stephen

Stephen Curd graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design in 2008. He studied womanswear with his emphasis in menswear and fine tailoring.  After graduating he moved to Chicago to experience a competitive fashion market but also to learn and grow as a new designer. Over the past few years he has been building his brand GaricStephens and making his mark on the Chicago, Saint Louis, Portland and New York Fashion Scenes.

In 2014, Stephen and his spouse Travis made the move to Southwest VA to begin a new life together. The town and surrounding areas have welcomed his brand and vision with open arms, debuting feature pieces in fine clothing stores such as William King Clothiers in Bristol, TN. Since making the move,  Stephen's plate has been nothing but full. He strives to maintain the production of quality, one-of-a-kind pieces using local manufacturers and businesses to produce and exhibit his line.

"I love to design with a gender-bending point perspective so that my collections can be worn by both sexes. No age limit and open possibilities."

I Just want people to love how they feel in what they are wearing, with pieces that they can wear for years....IT'S LUXURY, YOU SHOULD LIVE IT! That's my mantra.
